If you’re on variable pricing, it should.

Yep, Octopus Agile. So far I’ve been paid about £0.30 for my usage this morning. Reckless usage, I’ve got everything turned on.

It might sound like wasting power but the reason the price is negative is that there is too much production or to put it another way not enough load on the grid. OP is doing exactly what the grid wants, though I think I would try and use it for productive means if I could.

If it makes you feel any better, some devices in the house are being used for good, like keeping some baby rabbits warm.

Octopus are now on week 13 out of an estimated 6 weeks to fix my IHD not being able to maintain a connection and constantly rebooting itself.

I keep getting updates every 2 weeks saying the engineers are still working remotely on my meter.

I know this is unrelated but I saw octopus and well I am somewhat annoyed at this point.

If it’s just the IHD with problems, don’t worry about it. Mine is in a drawer somewhere. It doesn’t do anything.

I don’t know, but Octopus are no longer receiving smart meter data from me (and vastly overestimated my bill after I was away for a month).

I assumed the IHD was receiving data from the meters and pushing it to the account, is that not how it works?

No, the meters communicate directly over a mesh network setup between neighbouring meters. I think somewhere they’ll be a cell tower connection or something.

The IHD is solely for you to look at, or not.
