The Palestinian police general killed by Israeli forces on Monday morning was in charge of securing the entry of aid trucks into northern Gaza, according to Al Jazeera.
His efforts resulted in the safe entry of aid trucks for two nights in a row, following weeks of Israel targeting convoys and aid seekers.
Over two dozen aid trucks entered Gaza City over the weekend and reached isolated areas in the north for the first time in months.
And absolutely no repercussions will come of it.
They will claim that he was either Hamas or that he didn’t condemn Hamas.
According to Israel any government official in Gaza is Hamas.
According to Israel any person in Gaza is Hamas.
According to Israel any
government officialanyone who does not fully support everything they do in Gaza is Hamas.
Well factually this guy is Hamas.
Just not the Hamas military but the above ground police force that escorts food trucks to the north.
Aren’t the police typically not affiliated with any party?
The police falls under Gaza’s government which is Hamas. Just like how the doctors work for “Hamas”. However it does not do combat with israel that is only Al Qassam
The police guards food trucks against looting so they can reach the north with food.
So they’re affiliated with the government, not necessarily Hamas.
The empty comment section saying ‘nothing to see here…’ on these posts is eerily poignant.
What do you want people to say? At a certain point you have to start protecting your own mental health. Subjecting yourself to this kind of news day in and day out, doesn’t do anybody any favors. We can yell all day long about it on the internet and it doesn’t do a load of jack to help the situation.
I’ve spent tens of thousands of words going into the lion’s den of particular pro-Israeli subs, both to challenge the veracity of my own position and try to inject some sense.
It’s tough when the other side has paid online trolls no different than the Russian IRA and nothing else to do. I’ve exhausted my time and sanity but am happy I contributed my drop in the ocean to the dissent that may have pushed the Biden Administration to call out Israel.
If it makes you feel better the misinformation and poor reporting is prevalent on both sides. I’ve been downvoted for asking for links, questioning accuracy of reporting and one sided story telling, citing legal arguments… even saying that they disagree with the red cross assessment of whats ok and not.
War crimes and crimes against humanity don’t care about fairness, or feelings, and don’t become ok just because you are losing or been attacked first.
I don’t ‘want’ anyone to say anything. But when the governments of most major countries aren’t saying anything about these atrocities that happen day in and day out, the phrase feels very poignant.
What are you talking about?
Maybe it’s a Memmy things, but when there no comments on a post that’s the message displayed.
Pretty funny story tbh. A high ranking Hamas official is killed in a shootout with special forces inside al-Shifa Hospital, and “unnamed” sources immediately start talking to Al Jazeera about how this guy was responsible for securing aid. Clearly just a lie for PR, but people will believe anything. Footage from the raid: https://twitter.com/manniefabian/status/1769790151788491081
A short, heavily-edited video, with every “militant” blurred, and only showing blurred dead guys with guns is not evidence.
Raw footage or GTFO. This is actually worse than zero evidence, as it could be completely manufactured fake news.
If their statements were true, they should have no issue releasing the complete and unedited body cam footage, from entry to exit — at the very least, screening it to reputable independent journalists and the ICC.

Name one military in the world that releases complete and unedited body cam footage from special forces raids. Do you understand how absurd that is?
I understand how absurd it would be to possess proof of your claims and refuse to release it.
Do you really think any organization would release unedited footage of any military operation?
MEE themselves have been done for editing videos to push agenda.
The US Army did it to debunk Wikileaks twice.
Did that change your perception of the US army? Did that justify their actions to you? Were you less likely to question actions taken by the US army when the media is grilling them?
Sure as hell called out WikiLeaks as unreliable and propaganda. Their propensity for actually putting soldiers credibly accused of crimes on trial made the Army itself a more reliable center of information.
Pretty funny story tbh.
Based on your comment history, it is no surprise that you find stories of misery and death to be “pretty funny”.
