    I mean—he’s supposed to be God incarnate, right? Or at least His infallible mouthpiece. This is apparently how their God wants his followers to refer to gay men… So that’s good to know for those of us with Catholic friends.

      I know you probably don’t actually care, but things that the Pope says are only infallible when they’re made ex cathedra, which is like a special phrase that indicates “this stuff came straight from God”. Most of the things the Pope says don’t have that authority

      It’s all religious people. The “love the sinner” bullshit. Every last one of them would slip back into hate if they didn’t worry about how it made them look in public.

    Not defending hurtful remarks, but any polyglot knows that context and culture are everything and that dictionary translations are rarely entirely accurate. I’d rather know what he actually said with credible interpretation than some social media screed based on Google Translate’s version.
