    Small steps.

Implementation doesn’t have to be perfect on the first go. And arguing over every detail is what lead to many of these programs being cancelled.

In all likelihood the food that was served came from a corporation that also feeds the prisons and jails, like Aramark.

Providing fresh and nutritious food is “too expensive”, so they put out a bid for a complete and cost-effective food service. Corporation picks it up. Due to corporations being legally required to make profit, they make the food as cheap as possible. End result is kids getting overly processed food that meets the minimum legal requirements, comes in a bag that is boiled or microwaved, and is very profitable for the investors.

Meanwhile the children of the people who make the decisions and who make money off those decisions go to a private school that is subsidized by everybody’s taxes and provide fresh made healthy meals.

All part of our lovely corrupt system of governance.
