This isn’t a question, more of a PSA. I went to install a new game on steam and saw I was running a bit low on space so I go to check my drive. Look and find 250 gigs on my epic folder. “That’s strange,” I think to myself. I open Epic and see I only have two games installed which together should only add up to about 30 GB. So I go to check what’s actually in one of the game folders expecting to find save data and caches and what have you, only to find a .exe file of that game. I thought maybe it’s just a launcher or setup exe so I double click and it starts the game up instantly after not having played it for probably a year and a half at least. Go to check the other folders and it’s the same thing. So today I found out epic hasn’t been properly uninstalling the majority of my games (or uninstalling them at all.) Not only that but I go to redownload one of the games just to see if it recognizes that the game is already installed and will let me actually get rid of it but it just started downloading a second game file. So if you’re running low on drive space and you don’t know why- check your Epic Games Folder
tl;dr Epic wasn’t uninstalling my games from the drive just removing the icons from the launcher.
