My bet is on the cloudy sky. The crane is bound to run out of energy before doing any real damage.
You had strong reasoning on your side, but the gray sky was no longer present when I passed by today. Somehow the crane must have won. On the other side I have a looming suspicion that in the long run the gray sky will be back and the crane will be gone.
