Great photo! I like how you see the bird clearly, but you also can see he’s well camouflaged if you didn’t know he was there.
I’m no expert, but from some quick checking, I’m leaning it’s a male. The head seems pretty round and the colors are dark and the chest pattern looks pretty thick.

We were thinking it’s a male as well. Thanks for the heads up about being able to host pics again.
He’s very camouflaged. We can usually only spot him when we see him land. I’m sure he’s been sitting there other times and we never noticed.
