I can’t imagine wearing that shirt but seriously their security theater deserves to be continuous berated and the whole thing needs to be eliminated. I want 1980s airports back and a government that has to have a specific court order to spy on any given citizen.

      yes.

Airplanes are secure enough already, they all have the front area locked off so hijackings are now basically a non-issue. So then the only reason to sneak something onto a plane would be to kill a lot of people, which you can do easily enough without going on an airplane. See: US schools

I’d like to be able to bring my 3.8 oz, half-used gel deodorant on an airplane with me. Apparently TSA isn’t smart enough to figure out that if it’s originally 3.8 oz, and half of it’s gone, then it’s somewhere under the max 3.4 oz size limit. Also, I’m probably not planning on causing damage to anyone with my deodorant, quite the opposite actually, I’m protecting them from my stank.

Reminds me of the Grand Tour bit where Clarkson goes “would you like to see my penis?”

TSA really isn’t bad at all these days. Like they are dumb, but being pissed about it seems silly. You don’t even take off your shoes anymore and it’s a 5 minute queue 95% of the time.

That depends if you get precheck screening, no? And what airport you are flying in/out?

I flew in to JFK last year and I didn’t need to remove my shoes when flying in, but needed to when flying back. And then this year, I flew in through PHL and needed to do that. And I had to be scanned in the spinning tube machine 3 different times before they gave up and groped me instead.

Compared to most places in Europe: basically just throw your stuff up on the belt and go through a metal detector.

It’ll vary but I haven’t had to do it at several airports for most of my travels and I’m typically flying at least 4-5 times a year local and international.

I guess my point is, is really not that invasive or with long lines compared to immediate post 911.

Out of all the shitty things in government, that ain’t the hill I die on.
