Someday there’s going to be some research that conclusively shows that pink imperialism and using LGBT rights as an excuse to kill people, has actually done massive harm to those rights and the perception of queer people. You don’t need research, just talk to any homophobe from the global south. They’ll mention “the west” quite often. Universal values, such as human rights for all LGBT people, have been undermined by this Eurocentric culturalism/“clash of cultures” ideology of rainbow imperialism.
