  • Cass Eris (cognitive psychologist, succdem/liberal) has a playlist going through the book. She brushes part of outright accepts some anti-communist horseshit, but those should be obvious to you when she does. Other than that, she shows that holding JPB to any reasonable academic standard is a futile endeavour, from sharing information from his patients doing little to protect their identity to making absurd propositions and comparisons all with little to no citations. She also makes it a point to point out all the Freudian and Jungian poppycock Beterson has incorporated into his work.

It’s a lot of videos averaging 40 mins so you could limit yourself to 1-3 rules and probably still be far more in-depth than your friend. I don’t suggest trying to go through the whole thing quickly, Dr. B’s work is quite frequently a mindfuck to think about with any depth, far too much quackery to take at face value.

  • Absolutely not, for the sole reason that DPR Korea isn’t a real entity in the minds of liberals. It’s the boogeyman, the place with no democracy, subzero freedoms, more arrests and executions than births and so on. They can’t fathom there being a real, physical thing where DPR Korea is on the map, unless it’s desolate wasteland or the DMZ.

  • I’ve seen this “let’s make fun of trump for his age” thing to many times today and cannot emphasise this enough: nobody gave 2 bits of a shit about biden’s age vis-à-vis the number itself. The man was clearly demented by 2019 but time around he can’t maintain a train of thought for 60 seconds even when he has a script. Trump may be less than what he was in 2016 but he’s mentally active enough to rouse his crowd after he was shot at. I’m not even sure we can say that about Kamala.

  • Biggest reason, I can still use Boost after the api shit. If I were forced to use a browser or shudder the official app, I wouldn’t even consider it.

Most of my scrolling I do here, my Reddit use had become more specific even before I became more active on the 'grad. I don’t use twitter or any other social media, so Reddit is my only source of news on the series and mangas I follow.

For my part I don’t use the wider Lemmy either. I’ve got 2 subscriptions from hexbear and that’s it. Other instances feel like knock-off Reddit so I don’t browse them for the same reasons I haven’t browsed r/all in years.

  • Since Biden died in 2019 his campaigns’ main strategy has been to keep the corpse away from the limelight as much as possible. The pandemic helped immensely last time, not only did Trump just removed the response, he also couldn’t campaign as hard and Biden wasn’t expected to make public appearances where he’d have to stand by himself without strings.

You know how liberals sometimes talk about some percentage of voters Trump/Republicans can’t lose? That’s what “cold/stutter” people are for democrats.

  • I still have no idea what anyone is talking about in saying Ginsburg should have resigned. Scalia died while Obama was in office, and he didn’t fight to fill that seat. That’s not to mention these rightists have been sitting with their thumbs up their collective arse while further rightists were appointing their loonies as federal judges.

Biden’s been brain dead since 2019. He was elected without so much as a brain fart worth a damn. Why is this an issue now, when it was simply brushed away last time?
