Three leaders died during Reagan’s term.

Chernobyl was another sign that the entire architecture was getting ready to collapse.

Gorbachev tried to modernize the bureaucracy, but oldtimers who’d been holding onto power for decades weren’t going to give up without a fight.

Plenty of americans will claim that Reagan destroyed the USSR, but that’s just propaganda they’ve chosen to swallow.

Other way around.

The CIA saw that the Soviets hated it, and decided that this was a great way to differentiate the US from the repressive Communists.

Any discussion of political ideals outside of a classroom are nonsensical.

Communist China has billionaires, and North Korea is not a democratic republic.

Look around and see who is actually running for office in your area. Find the ones you agree with the most and try to help them.

I like what former NYC Mayor Ed Koch said. “If you agree with me 51% of the time, vote for me. If you agree with me 100% of the time, see a psychiatrist.”

Everything else is just chin music.

That’s the way I look at it.
