Dearth of excitement? I sometimes wish for a bit less excitement :-) But the day only has 24h and there are so many hobbies to pursue…

It’s literally in the term. But yeah sure, it’s easier to just smack the same label on everything. Whatever makes you happy.

They could simply

A) dislike X

B) hate/despise X

C) came to the logical conclusion, that X is bad/wrong/shouldn’t be/whatever

D) genereally mistrusting against X due to a careful nature

E) have had traumatic experience with X (e.g. Being raped/attacked by a member of a specific ethnicity) and hence totally overreacting to an otherwise harmless stimulus, even forgetting the rules of civil behaviour

Those all don’t mean there’s the medical condition of a phobia for X.

A real xenophobic has an irrational fear of anything unknown/alien. Doesn’t mean the person just hates e.g. Mexicans for no real reason. It might even like them once they get to know the better, which often just won’t happen as phobics tend to avoid the cause their phobia instead of treating it.

I just dislike the lax use of medical terms until they’re bereft of any real meaning.

So, a person who yanks “speak English!” to someone, could have many reasons to do. None are neither polite nor politically correct. While the asshole is probably just the uneducated asswipe, the phobic could be helped and probably even feels bad afterwards for being so compulsive and insulting.

Spent the week doing tours with wifey, gaming like a maniac, catching up on some documentaries, and being glad for not having to worry about kids or pets or anything else 😊

Not everyone disliking something is necessarily phobic towards it. That’s just one possoble explanation.

If that’s what you enjoy doing, then sure, it’s fine :) Coding is fun, i do it as a hobby too. Probably not on your level though. But you’re most likely not the absolute average working-joe.

And yes, retire as soon as you comfortably can. Did in my early 20s, would never go back. Tried once or twice for some months working, just because it sounded like a nice gig. Got bored quickly, left before I even learned some names. That was 3 decades ago or so :) Even if you love the job, traveling is probably better. And doing what you love for yourself and not for the benefit of others is even better too.

• won’t work for bigger cities where nobody gives a rats ass for others
• won’t work in countries without free guns. How else should a community defend themselves?

I see you’re not sure of an alternative, i wouldn’t have one to offer either. Where’s light there’s shadow. And the worst problem is always: people. Homo homini lupus est. Sure they would protect my properties too. So unless you are totally against property (then you’d totally be right and we wouldn’t argue), how else should i protect it? I don’t work but I’m still sometimes not at home and glad the cops would be here in 5mins in case of an alarm.

That might be true for the US, as they’re a shitty capitalist hellhole. Here we have nearly zero incidents, extremely low level of gun-usage and they’re not just capital-protectors. They’re helpers in all kind, even as a taxi if need be. E.g. Who’d you gonna call if your SO beats you or just won’t leave your house? Or anything else where someone stronger (or better armed) than you threatens you in some way? Popo is here in 5m tops. Remember that noone has guns here and we’re not at liberty to shoot intruders even if we had guns.

While i don’t argue about inequality mostly being the reason for violence/whatever, the cops aren’t the enemy. As said in another comment, they’re just doing their shitty job. As kids we see them as heroes (not fear them like in the US), so many just become cops as a kids-dream, not even thinking about if that’s a good thing. I’d argue that a banking-employee or basically any other employee that works for a billionaire, are the real enemy and evil. Who cares about the lowest end in the chain aka coos? I don’t.
