I think if I was going to do this I’d come up with some basic mechanics for the one not in control to act as a ghost on the other one’s shoulder. Let them use a limited selection of their abilities, see and hear what’s going on, speak exclusively to the other player, and influence the in-control one’s dice rolls a little

I really like the developer’s voiceover in Getting Over It. He generally only speaks when you either make it past a difficult obstacle or lose a lot of progress. I could see that format working with NPC summons. Have them join you for the boss runback and tell you a little snippet each time, and also join you to say something else at the post-boss bonfire. This could happen regardless of whether the player chooses to actually bring them through the fog gate or not too. Keep up that pretence of them being summoned from their own world by having them be like the ghosts of players you see running about

The flooded church district in Shadow of the Erdtree is like a miniature version of that. It catapulted me straight back to my memories of fighting the electric eel in Shadow of the Colossus, except in that you actually do have to go swimming

some Ukraine-British plot to steal a museum relic. But - Why?
THE BRITISH MUSEUM’S APPETITE CANNOT BE SATED. LOOT FOR THE LOOT GOD, ARTIFACTS FOR THE ARTIFACT THRONE
But nah more seriously they were upgraded to be actually manoeuvre and avoid interception at the end of their flights earlier this year, so I could imagine getting the details of that would be good for developing countermeasures

It’s what the Godskin Duo & Four Kings combo boss fight will be called
It’s absolutely beautiful! If you can make it look like that I trust you’ve got the skill to make it play nicely too

I actually do want a Nausicaa soulslike though

I appreciate the way they had Malenia’s second healthbar interact with her health-steal mechanic too. Having the second phase start below full health adds some interesting pressure to not take hits since it’s the only time she can go above where she started

You know, I hadn’t thought of it this way before but I think you’ve actually nailed what makes me like or dislike a second healthbar there

I know this is about a month after you posted it, but I only just saw it at the weekend and decided to give it a shot myself. I’ve never tried Beam’s rally mode so it was a bit of a thrown-in-the-deep-end experience, but after a couple of hours I got a star!
I was much less tightly controlled than you and only got a 4:16, so it’d take a fair bit of practice to catch up, but it was good fun. I always find Beam’s relative lack of lateral grip a bit frustrating to drive with, but on gravel that suddenly becomes totally fine. I was throwing the car a lot more sideways than you, which seems to work for me… at least some of the time, but I’ll need to clean it up to improve my time. It’s possible that it’s at least partly a consequence of me driving with a gamepad instead of a wheel & pedals setup though. I’ve got less fine control, but I can also go from full steering one way to the other basically instantly
I was able to go from the point at 2:23 in your video all the way to 2:40 at full throttle, so that might shave a bit off your time. I really need to figure out those narrow sections at 3:27 and 4:46 though, besides general smoothness I’m pretty sure that those are where I’m losing the most time

Ahh, so this is what the genie gave me when I wished for Sony to release more Bloodborne stuff. What a bastard
Ahh, thank you! I suppose it makes makes to tag @Maeve@kbin.earth in case they miss it too
Never mind getting the Union Jack the right way up, at least some of those dumb fucks managed to paint the Danish flag on a roundabout because they forgot what the English one looks like

The game looks like it’s tricking you but actually isn’t. There are always two witches and they’re both real, you just don’t get to see one of the health bars at first. You can still damage the one with the hidden health bar
There’s a Dunedin in New Zealand, that technically counts!
It’s essentially a model parliament, but one that gets contact with the actual government. Under-18s fight for election and hold debates in the same manner as the House of Commons
No, I have absolutely no idea how this makes it “woke” beyond that some people just use the word to mean “thing I don’t like”

Imagine if the boss fight one was invisible unless you had enough insight, like Aava in DS2
I mean, someone would definitely still beat it like that. But it’d be cool
Microsoft, Google, and Apple do not make the kind of telecoms equipment that this is about. The big American companies in this field are Cisco and Qualcomm. The Chinese companies are major suppliers in Europe, the American ones aren’t
