Recommendations are a killer feature on YouTube. Only, one needs to cultivate them carefully. Look through the recommendations on an interesting video and save promising ones into the ‘watch later’ playlist (or better yet, separate playlists per topic). Don’t click on random videos, especially from links on social media — use an incognito tab for that.

This works great for me, I have enough videos saved to last me a year or two at least. YouTube learned my taste quite well, especially when it comes to music — found many good albums and tunes in the recs, despite being a snob.

It’s ‘Sykurmolarnir’, but yes, it’s a direct translation. Icelandic and English are comparatively closely related, so ‘sugar’ and ‘sykur’ are pretty obvious cognates, but in fact the word goes way back, and similar ones can be found in many other languages.

Afaik all Logitech controllers use a somewhat different tech for the analog sticks than what PS and Xbox controllers use. As a result, the inputs are less precise (with smaller total range of values), but stick drift in particular is either very rare in comparison, or doesn’t affect them at all.

In my anecdotal case, I have two wired Logitech controllers, both possibly fifteen years old, neither have problems with sticks. Even after I spilled beer on the one I currently use and am neglecting to clean it properly for half a year so far.

Pretty nice focused riffage there. Sits somewhere in the middle between Buried at Sea and Unleashed’s ‘Across The Open Sea’ in terms of speed. Should go well with some ganja.

The sauce sounds similar to various ‘Caucasian-style’ ketchups. By which I mean cuisine of the Caucasus, i.e. mainly Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. They love spices there. The spice selection in the rougaille recipes that I found is pretty similar, except the ketchup is made with fresh tomato paste and isn’t cooked, to my knowledge. There’s also the ajika sauce, which includes chili pepper instead of tomatoes, and a variety of other spices depending on the brand — it’s more concentrated and probably more authentic than the ketchups.

Where I am, I can buy either vanilla or proper plain ice cream, so I should get both one day and compare.
