Once upon a time I would’ve said Heaven Shall Burn should probably be on the list, but I get the feeling they’re just typical German “left”. They’re quiet on Palestine, despite their new album being called Heimat (homeland) which seems like the perfect opportunity to bring the right of return to the front. Instead they’re extremely vague and seem to side step any sort of concrete position on any current or historical events. The only foreign group they collaborated with on the album is a Ukrainian choir which is also a pretty bad look on an album whose themes seem adjacent to if not directly related to European nationalism.

I might have to rewatch it soon, I’ve only seen it once and I immediately knew I’d have to watch it again

The color of the swords looks like the color of the cockpits of Soviet aircraft a bit. Or oxidized copper. Both of which I love.

Hell yeah that sounds like so much fun! I need to find some people to ride e-bikes with near me.

Unfortunately my electric bike might be slowly eating the rear hub, the electric motor plus my powerful legs might be too much torque for the pawls in the freehub. I might rebuild the wheel with a star ratchet hub since those should hold up to the torque much better. I can ride it fine but it makes a concerning noise and sounds like the chain is skipping every once in a while, but the sprocket, chain, and cassette are all new and the rear derailleur is adjusted correctly :/

It’s so cozy rn. The rain is pattering on the windows, the sky is just starting to light up with a blueish-grey light, and it’s a crisp early fall feeling day. I should go check if the fire is still on, it probably needs coaxing back to life. I should journal a bit.

I also found the first Maximum Ride book at a thrift store which was a very important series to me back when I was a kid, I’m excited to re-read it and see how it holds up.

Right now I’m debating whether to read or journal.
