With how cops are, it’s tantamount to the same thing – it’s tacit approval for them to straight up murder protesters regardless of provocation. They can always make that shit up later and get off without consequences.

And I’m sure no one is ever going to misuse that and claim the protester calmly standing in front of the car was “threatening them!!!1!!!1”
As a car enthusiast I’m incredibly conflicted because muscle cars are cool – but I can’t for the life of me tell you why. They’re loud, heavy, inefficient, and much clumsier and slower than other sports cars (which is why I prefer sports cars anyway). They have incredible amounts of power but they can’t even use it properly except on a prepped drag surface, maybe.
You’re right, they really are dumb as fuck.
None of those things automatically give you the right to murder someone. Due process exists for a reason.
This does happen regularly in the US.
No you won’t. It’s significantly higher in the subcontinent, and those are the 10% that actually make it to the news. We tend to cling pretty hard to the “women are property” idea around these parts, unfortunately
Uttar Pradesh is India’s analogue to the US’ deep south. Take the worst stereotypes you’d associate with that, turn them up 11x, and that about covers what it’s like.
Waymo uses Jaguar I-Pace CUVs that are built primarily out of aluminum and powered by lithium ion batteries. Aluminum melts at about 660°C, and Li-ion battery fires can easily reach 1000°C
Tom Morello was at the protest, hopefully he’s had the same thought
Channel 9 reported it as her being “caught in the crossfire”, as if she got hit in a gun battle between protesters and cops or something
They’re two separate statements. I acknowledge that it’s beyond shitty for cops to be shooting anyone (especially journalists).
But also the news outlet in question is known to have shitty politics and therefore while this specific article is more or less accurate (and backed up by other sources) , they are far from a reliable source.
Okay but also, fuck LBC, they’re a rightwing (and Zionist) mouthpiece
Gaza is extremely short on physical cash, which is ironically why merchants only accept physical cash. This has given rise to a middleman industry where Gazans have to wirelessly transfer money via the Bank of Palestine app to a “money exchanger” office who will give them physical cash in exchange, while taking a (now 45%) cut for themselves to be able to pay the rich businessmen who are hoarding the cash
Judging by their relative sizes in the screengrab and with some quick back-of-the-envelope math, the cop shot her from about 5 meters away. That’s pretty fucking close to point blank, no?
The vehicle, which had its blue lights on, was trapped on Waterloo Bridge on Wednesday morning due to congestion caused by Just Stop Oil, Met Police said. Pictures and footage from the scene shared on social media show queues of traffic in both directions on the busy bridge.
The climate campaigners have hit back at the force’s handling of the incident and claimed it was the Met police blocking the ambulance so they could “blame it on a protest march going in the other direction”.
The protesters weren’t the one blocking the ambulance. The cars were, and the cops didn’t do anything to alleviate that so the ambulance could get through the cars and to the protesters who would’ve let it through anyway.
You should read the entire article when you try to do a gotcha.
Those are community notes for crowdsourced fact-checking
…which will then lead to wider parking spaces and even more space stolen from pedestrians and cyclists.
