For something that literally holds all your credentials, just it being closed source should be enough of a concern.

Nailed it.
My daughter and my sister 🤣🤣. I have 0 art in my body, so they do all that for me. I could say I have a great AI driven FOSS process in place, lol.
Tubular works like a charm like 98% of the time (which is way more than YouTube apps, LOL).
I selfhost vault warden, and in all honesty, it’s just painless. I do reverse proxy it, but you could also just setup wireguard or Tailscale at home and keep it even more secure that way.
The reason I chose to selfhost is because I want to be in as much control as possible of my data. I chose Vault warden because it’s fully featured and super easy to deploy the server, ridiculously so.
Now,if anyone was to ask me if they should selfhost Bitwarden or just use their hosted service, I’d suggest to take the second option, for 2 reasons:
1.- it’s even easier and just works 2.- if you choose the paid tier it has some nice features and you help the project stay alive
That’s what I understood by the question, yes.
Yeah, the question was if it could be used in multiple devices
No and no. It’s basically everything is stored locally.
To each his/her own. It’s not easy in some places to find TVs that aren’t smart, and in all honesty, I think LG has no competition when it comes to the panels. But out principle, I’m not giving money to companies like that. Why isn’t it opr-in instead of opt-out and on top of that you have to dig deep to opt-out?
I do understand your position, and respect it. I’m just not willing to be part of their revenue.
Arch based distro (yes, even Manjaro).
I used to be a fan of LG TVs (we have 3 of them, last model is a 2021 Nanocell). Because of this alone LG will never see my money again. Thanks for the warning.
That is fucking epic. I had (not anymore) a similar issue with my wife and ads about shoes and coats. So I allowed all the crap on her devices only on Adguard Home.
Then her phone died, I gave her mine with GrapheneOS on it,until she could get a new one. The first 2 weeks were a pain: “where’s the playstore?”, “what is this gayscale chrome (Vanadium)?”, “My banking app keeps crashing”, etc. After a while we started spending more time doing things together, she was spending more time with the kids, and was being way more productive in her business.
Long story short, she kept the phone, I ended up getting a new one, and she even asked me to remove Windows from her computer and set her up with Fedora.
It’s a habit thing, I think.
Right? They’ve done some good stuff over the years, but that does not eliminate the fact that they have chosen to be part of all the enshitification going on.
Tubular has been working for me (97.5763% of the time) and so has Grayjay (98% of the time).
However, I do agree that we need a more effective way to just watch and enjoy. Unfortunately most creators are not willing to even entertain the idea of moving to a different platform.
What he said. 👏
They are not trying to “replace” cookies. This is effectively adding yet another way to track users. Sure, may not be as invasive as cookies, but this does nothing to remove or modify them either.
Then there’s the fact thay they deployed this behind the scenes and did not mention it until they were called out.
This comment alone:
“As part of this work, we are also committing to being transparent and open about our intent and plans prior to launching tests or features.”
… means they have no intention to be honest about shit.
The Pixel 9 line had GrapheneOS avaliable a couple of days after launch. That’s how fast. You order the phone, and by the time you got it, GrapheneOS was ready to replace Stock Android.
I own my Pixel 8 Pro. No root. GrapheneOS. So, your logic is therefore flawed.
Start with a miniPC between 250-350 dollars. That will get you a good start. If you need to add storage, you can always add via USB.
