The average Christian will reply “something good will come of this, you’ll see, we just can’t see it yet”.

Okay, let’s pause there. God is infinite and all powerful, correct? So, that means, in true infinity and all power, no matter what he is doing with his Devine plan, there are infinite alternative ways he could have achieved it. That’s infinity. If there aren’t, then he’s not infinite. If he can’t do some of those infinite ways, then he is not all powerful.

If he can do any of those infinite ways, then he chose this one, the one that destroyed homes and lives, he chose it out of infinite other options that wouldn’t have destroyed people. There exist infinite other paths, he chose the destructive one.

So God is either not all powerful, and he’s just a guy trying his best, which hey, good trying and I understand, but not “God” then. Or he’s sadistic and chooses this.

That is the one that broke my faith.

I coded on GCP for a couple of years and it was just this constantly. Constantly changing APIs, the functionality of components, and just expecting us to drop everything to “upgrade” every few months. Like we didn’t have our own work to get done.

Ironically for young people the pain may be short, but it’ll make stocks cheap for us, it’s great to be paying into a 401k now during a downturn!

This isn’t at all surprising or really alarming to me as read. Yeah, you can’t process locally, but I’m surprised you could at all before. I don’t believe you’ve ever been able to with Google.

What I’m more concerned about is how long until it’s always on recording - if it’s not already.

I’m simply happy that they’re seeing what they wanted for other people. They voted for the man who openly said he would make life harder and kick people out of their homes, and they gleefully enjoyed it thinking it was only people they disliked.

I’m all for people learning lessons the hard way when they refused to see reason. Especially when the reason was to be kind and empathetic in the first place.

And on top of that for most government workers their paychecks have been remarkably stable. Assuming you’ll always be employed plus easy credit and bad financial habits are a bad combination

It never means anything until it effects them personally. Their family, their friends. Until then it’s nothing.

We really are dealing with people who do not have empathy.

And this is coming from someone who is child free and really doesn’t enjoy kids personally. Take the time, be with your family. Jobs come and go but your family is who matters. Start talking the other way. “I want to make sure I absorb this while I can, I can’t imagine missing these moments” and “this will only happen once or twice in my life, how could I miss that?”.
