Yeah, it makes me sad that Australian decoration is so tacky and overdone.

That looks so delicious!
Sounds about right. He’s either brilliant with 4s and 6s all over the place or out for >10.
If we’re doing a big dinner out, maybe once every 4-5 weeks on average, and probably around $30-50 each. If we go out for a casual dinner, it’s closer to $30-40 pp.
Last night we went to Ravenna Gorge Christmas market, not too far from Freiburg. It. Was. AWESOME. It’s under a train viaduct thing that gets lit up in various colours. It was so atmospheric and fun, we really enjoyed it. Highly recommend if you’re in Germany at Christmas market time.
Try doing a hard reset and updating everything that needs updating. Otherwise yeah, you’ll probably need to take it in 😞
Lindau today, unfortunately the markets were closed so here’s a picture of the Christmas tree in from of the old town hall.
Wow, I’m in awe of how far you plan ahead! We’re certainly having a blast, although the little town we’re in today is veeeery quiet as lots of things are closed on Mondays and it’s pissing down with rain!
Good luck! Keep us updated!
December and Jan are great times for us to take leave from our jobs, and we love coming to Europe. When we googled things to do in Europe at this time, Christmas markets popped up, so we’ve been going to a bunch but also doing other things. In Munich we went to two art galleries and a classical music concert, and we’re about to go to a town on a lake so we’ll do some walks around there.
Munich Christmas market! Much less crowded than Nuremberg, although less variety in the stalls.
Nuremberg Christmas market this morning. It was HEAVING all day, too busy to properly enjoy. We went to the castle and wandered the city instead, just went in for a little while to check it out this evening before dinner.
Do you if anyone’s heard from Stompsie or Lister? I miss those two over here.
Nooooooo bummer! Some people panic so easily. Can she use something else until you can afford a new one? Could be a good way to show her the consequences of actions like that without it affecting her too badly?
Really glad your mum made it. Definitely great advice to be aware of your body and note any unusual changes to discuss with your doctor.
Bamberg was very pretty, and I tried Glühwein for the first time (jet lag and then wasn’t feeling well, so chose to wait). Man, that stuff packs a punch. I had one small cup and I am veeeeeeerrrrrry tipsy! We’re staying in Nuremberg for a few nights now, and there’s a train strike for a couple of days so we’ll have to just stick within Nuremberg itself.
Rothenburg Christmas market! Unfortunately it closed so early that we didn’t get to go to it after dinner, which was sad. Also the famous Plonlein. Rothenburg is so beautiful. If you like beautifully preserved medieval walled cities, this is a gem.

Würzburg Christmas market!
(I can’t work out how to crop it, so sorry if it’s still sideways).
Two Christmas markets! Firstly Aachen’s, looking at the Cathedral that Charlemagne commissioned in 796, then Baden-Baden’s in the fog. Both were good markets, with some good variety of stuff and not too much tat. The lines for food and drinks at Baden-Baden were ridic, whereas they were much more manageable in Aachen. Cologne tomorrow!
