In my area, these “subscription “ car wash places have nearly replaced all the diy car wash places. I think there’s one still in town, the rest are just empty stalls now or overflow parking for nearby businesses.

And of course, people like myself, with 10yo+ cars can’t utilize them. Memberships typically have a caveat that your car can only be so old to go through the automatic wash. Guess I gotta buy a new car if I don’t want to wash it with a bucket and hose 🤷‍♂️

Thankfully the ones I encounter the most are in an already pedestrian heavy area. The city has also taken steps in the last few years to discourage driving through that stretch as well. Speed limit is slower, lights every block, pedestrian crossings (though half are mid block without lights 👎), and new expanded bike lanes. But it still makes no sense why the walk lights don’t automatically change with the traffic lights 🤦‍♂️

My city surprisingly set ones up at certain intersections, where the walk lights won’t change UNLESS you hit the button. Had to get back in the habit of pressing them again

IT started as a hobby for me. My initial career was digital art/design. When I was 12/13 my dad let me have a pc, that I had to build from a box of scraps he got from work. I kept adding/upgrading that pc until windows pissed me off. Years later I kept it up on ppc and Intel Macs, when I started college. (No degree at all, went to a fancy art school and they ended up killing my program, so I just got a job instead)

I pretty much got my current job by already running a few various servers at home on arm boards and a NAS, helping with basic o365 admin tasks, and being able to crack open/max out the MacPro6,1s at work. I was only supposed to resize art files lol By the time we named a CTO, he just straight up asked me to run IT for him.

This seems to be the best option. I’m going to measure the mounting options on the side and look for something that matches up.

No worries, it’s on a shelf right now, the ears are for when I move it to a spare set of slide rails. No weight should be on the ears.

The ears are primarily just to keep it in place if I need to do maintenance on the server below it. I don’t intend to put any of the UPS weight on the ears. I should’ve included that in my OP.

My hope is to find something I don’t need to customize, my tools/facilities to do so are limited. I do think I’ll check the screw holes on the side to see if I can find something that will line up.

I’ve tried a few so far and things didn’t quite line up. I’m going to try the suggestion of checking the screw hole distances. Maybe I can find ears for an HP switch that matches.

Same thing happened to me, but with a rosewill case. Luckily there’s a 3d file for my card clip a fan to the heating and keep it cool. Unfortunately ALL the noctuas already in the case weren’t enough. OP be prepared to have a dedicated fan for the card

Iirc this upgrade program has been around in some iteration for several years. It’s not even something Apple is pushy about. If anything it’s specifically catered to the people who are going to trade in for new devices at launch anyway. My BIL is often like this and has been on this upgrade plan for years for his phone. If a new model comes out he wants, he puts in for the upgrade, otherwise he keeps the one he already has.
