Today I need to tidy & clean my whole house. So far, I’m on my second pot of tea. Going well.

I splurged on Valhalla Old English Toffee ice cream from Leo’s. Truly excellent decision, spectacular ice cream.

I’m in trouble for daring to use a laptop on my lap. Don’t I know laps are for cats?

I know I’m late for Hot Take Thursday, but: prawns don’t have much flavour and they’re too much work to bother with. Genuinely wouldn’t be bothered if I never ate one again.

Better or worse than when people enthusiastically and confidently do just ridiculous things when there was no need for them to take action at all? I’m going to be doing a lot of unpicking and detangling when I’m back tomorrow. I’m practising my patient face.

I bought a Terry’s mint-flavoured chocolate orange, with the thought process being hey, I like chocolate oranges, I like mint chocolate, let’s give it a go.

A week or so later I saw it in the cupboard and had a horrible thought: is it orange AND mint? What kind of monstrosity have I purchased here? Is this going to be like a Vegemite Tim Tam?

Upon closer examination I can confirm, no, just mint, but shaped like an orange because Reasons. So you can all relax, I’m sure that was stressing other people too.

The BOM app is telling me that the “overnight” minimum is forecast to be 16C, which sounds reasonable enough until you look closer and see it’s not due to drop that low until around 10am. I reckon the cooling might stay on.

My neighbour across the street has had their fence blow right over. Hold on out there.

Luckily I’m now home with pizza and beer. It’s been a bit of a week but things are looking ok right at thi moment.

It might not hurt to charge a few devices if you can, I reckon power lines’ll be hit at this rate.

I didn’t grab everything out of my car last week when I dropped it off to be repaired after an accident because initially they’d said it’d only be a few days. And then as I was driving off in the hire car they said “yeah so 3-4 weeks”.

So here am I driving around without a first aid kit, emergency coat, sun hat, extra shopping bags, the Melways, all of that- anything could happen.

I would like a small numbat posse for Christmas please. I’ve been good.

Sometimes simply resting is all we can manage, and that’s ok. Try to give yourself a bit of grace- always hard!

Party time. By which I mean I’m dusting off the dvd player and the Colin Firth version of Pride and Prejudice, and I’m snuggling in with a blanket and a cat.
