I think it would be interesting to break it up into a few different categories. Like Top 10 communities (% growth), Bottom 10 communities (least new posts or active users), Top 10 Trending communities (daily and weekly), Bottom 10 Trending communities (daily and weekly), stuff like that. Or just highlight major changes (top 10%, bottom 10%).
I include bottom numbers because it would be interesting to see which communities could use some attention, not just the ones that already are succeeding.
Question: do you have historical numbers?
There’s maybe only so much that can be displayed in a Lemmy post, especially when you consider what it would look like on a phone screen.
I’m not sure about “bottom 10%”, if it’s of widespread interest or not. The list wouldn’t necessarily highlight smaller communities (it’d be just as likely to show established communities who’s growth has plateaued).
Anyway, you can have a play yourself - historic data goes back to 24/07, and data is added for every new day here
