Of course you won’t get this. All the replies to your comment are miles-long stories justifying why it’s ok to compare Cuba to fucking Somalia. As if that’s a valid comparison.

Meanwhile Finland declares independence from Soviet Russia 100 years ago and they go their own way, which includes kicking the ass of the huge empire they were part of during the winter war. Fast forward a hundred years and now they’re ahead in a bunch of socioeconomic metrics that the Russians aren’t even fucking aware exist, from literacy to life expectancy, quality of water and air, civic engagement, employment rate etc.

This from two countries in the same region, who previously were a part of the same country. But you’re not gonna catch any tankie taking that comparison - nah, communism is just fine, source: trust me bro, I took a semester of poli sci and now I enjoy smelling my own farts.

And before anyone bothers to ask for source on Finland vs Russia comparisons, compare them yourself - you’ll find Finland is ahead in every fucking metric. And sure, not all of the differences today are because of one single issue. But you can’t fucking ignore that one country went the way of communism and the other didn’t.

Finland went ahead to become one of the best countries to live in whereas Russia is -still- a dictatorship where you better not stick your head out, you’ll lose it.
