    It’s just an outdated cultural signifier. If you think about it, most things that associated with being “masculine” and “feminine” don’t make a whole lot of sense, and are usually associated with sexist beliefs or with historical things that don’t really hold anymore. If we see gender as something that is performed, then eating meat, being angry and hairy and not caring about your health and looks are masculine signifiers in our deeply sexist society.
