Does anyone here have experience comparing the times of the Garmin race predictor for different events? I know that usually it slightly overestimates me or that I haven’t been able to run the time yet, but I’m curious how the estimations compare for different distances.

Or otherwise in general, what are your thoughts on sports-watch/app generated predicted race times?

My COROS watch predicted I’d run a half marathon and a 10k slightly faster than I did last year. I did the half in 2:00:40 and the 10k in 60:09, when it predicted I’d do the half in like 1:57 and the and the 10k in 55 minutes or so. Maybe it was just the “even time” barrier mentally holding me back? I’m not sure, but I haven’t had time to run any races this year since I’ve had a baby and COROS has downgraded my half marathon prediction to 2:15 something, and that feels about right. I feel like it’s predictions are pretty good, but they are based on ideal performance which is hard to get in the real world.
