Left Reddit last year after all the nonsense. Never looking back but I sure do miss the r/Watches subreddit. What are you other Reddit refugees doing to quench your watch fix?
Honestly nothing. Just been wearing some of my favorites. Probably cheaper than spending time on /r/Watches lol
I am also a Lemmy immigrant. It do miss the volume in a lot of the more specialized interests, but at least the quality is generally higher.
I’m a heathen who prefers electronic watches to mechanicals, but I enjoy looking at both. My daily drivers are a Citizen Promaster Skyhawk A-T Titanium Blue Angels and a Casio Pro Trek 3500T-7.

😂
Waiting for my watches to break and realize servicing a bunch of watches is expensive especially when I never leave the house 😱
I try to forget that as much as I can.
Seriously. My Christopher Ward is under service warranty repair for the second time in three years. My old winder Poljot stopped working. The watch I made from Lucius Atelier parts has indices loose so I’m going to see if someone can repair and service it in one go… Been wearing my quartz a lot lately 🙄🙄
Honestly, the lack of activity here has quelled my watch lust. But every once in a while I come across a watch ad and read more on it.
What did you enjoy about r/watches?
For me, I liked sharing in the excitement of new and seasoned collectors–but especially the newbies. Occasionally there were cool back stories, and even people getting their small collection stolen and the community pitching in a variety of watches to get them started again. Although sometimes obnoxious, the circle jerk was amusing to have around.
Maybe I’ll figuratively get off my butt and post my 3 watch collection.
Watch Crunch is your friend.
I read several watch forums and blogs and I occasionally chat on the Watches Discord server (although I find Discord annoying most of the time).
There’s a discord server too https://discord.com/invite/SJXnkjWE
