It was a predefined strategy. Combined with the delay in radio messages it came a lot earlier at a time when the sofas weren’t already gone.
And regardless of whether it was a good call or not his response after the race is not a good look if he wants to move a bigger team where they need to know that people can be trusted to execute a team strategy.
Hmmm don’t know about that… Sainz for example, has been praised for resisting idiotic calls from Ferrari.
Yuki was right to question the value of that call so late in the race. At that point, it only served to make Daniel look better in the final position… Daniel did not gain a single spot on his own in the entire race
Resisting the team call was dumb, imo, but that’s ofcourse debatable. I don’t agree with your perspective but I think it’s valid and not that weird.
The part I’m referring to as a bad look if he wants to switch teams is him dive-bombing and brake checking his teammate after the race had ended. No team will want anything to do with that.
Went looking for the dive bomb and found a video, definitely not professional from Yuki, although I understand his frustration… Yuki did not yield a spot in the entire race and only lost places due to bone headed pit stops… Daniel never gained a spot and he was then given the team order to take Yuki’s spot for no real gain at all
Second funny tid bit… The next video suggested by YouTube was a celebratory compilation of Daniel dive bombing other drivers… I guess when you are popular in F1 anything you do is justified
Resisting is too strong a word imo… He called out how untimely it was, obeyed anyway and then complained about it since Daniel was indeed not faster … That’s standard behavior for an F1 driver
The only driver I have actually seen resisting was Max when he clung to a P6 to deny Checo a second spot in the drivers championship
Keep in mind Yuki’s English is fairly limited and he comes across fairly harsh… Plus he is a cursing monster hahaha
I didn’t see nor heard commentary about the dive bomb so I can’t really say much about that… In any case, it’s clear RB does not care at all about Yuki, same as they didn’t care about Albon or Gasly… With them, you could clearly see they gave up at some point and just shunned them… With Daniel, you can see how they are bending over backwards to give him another shot
