A great Tarantino movie that seems to fall in the cracks of his filmography.

I once heard Sam L. Jackson’s character described as thinking he was as cool as SLJ characters in other movies when he was really just a small time loser, and that description makes me laugh.

I can’t explain it but this is my favorite Tarantino movie. It came out after pulp fiction, so it had no chance with critics who wanted something they didn’t get. But I love every bit of it from the characters to the music. It’s such a great movie, full of amazing performances. Also my favorite DeNiro character. DeNiro always plays these gangsters and criminals that are super competent, confident, charming, etc. In Jackie Brown he plays a criminal who is a quiet, burnt out loser, with no future and no use. I really loved how he went against type.

Same, so good to see him as a failure and one of the many things I love about it.

Late to the party, but you should try my all time favorite Christmas movie “The Long Kiss Goodnight.”

Peak Geena Davis as an assassin with amnesia and Jackson as the bumbling low rent ex-cop she hires to find her real identity.

Look for “The Rhythm Section” with Blake Lively. It came out early in 2020 and never had a chance to build an audience.

It takes the basic ‘terrorists killed my family’ trope and throws in some interesting twists.
