I used to play in a lot of minecraft communities centered around modding. I would play pack after pack after pack all in multiplayer until the next one came. Eventually, I started to become dissatisfied with the lack of quality of some packs (so called ‘kitchen sink’ packs where people just dump in whatever mods they kind of like with no rhyme or reason) so I worked on my own 1.7.10 pack around a core theme. Before I could finish, I had to quit due to the place getting increasingly fascist, which left me basically orphaned. I worked on and off of it and about a year and a half later, the pack was in a more-or-less complete state.

I had a few friends playtest it and found a lot of little issues which I later tackled with patches, and now it’s matured to a point where I was ready to release a part 2. Only issue though, is that interest in the series has completely dropped off and nobody is really all that into playing anymore. So this is where you come in!

This is the first public release of the pack. I’m hoping that I can get some people here to try it out and give feedback on how to make it even better. If even one person enjoys it to its end than I will consider all my effort over the years well worth it, but i’m hoping it can become the long-lasting pack it was created to be.

Summary: Balanced EMC economy, space/science theming, custom mob spawning and combat, no damage invincibility, craftable enchants, nearly limitless depth, realistic electricity simulator, designed with multiplayer in mind, zero-to-god, actively updated, disable hunger

If you have any questions I will be happy to answer them here, and if you have any feedback I will do my best to address it. Please also show off any builds or progress you’ve made as well, I would love to see it!

    Minor Update: Hunger rebalancing

    • Added Hunger Overhaul. Disabled the hunger rate modifiers and gimmicks and just kept in the stuff that made food harder to farm.
    • Made hunger regen more lenient (now allows health regeneration above half hunger) and doubled food regeneration (1 hunger is now = to 1 heart) for Hunger Strike players, who will get 25% less health per food due to lacking saturation mechanics, this should keep the two systems balanced.
    • Also disabled baby zombies as they were extremely unfun to fight against.
    • EDIT: Small update, forgot to disable a gimmick in Hunger Overhaul.

Another small tweak, this time movement speed balancing

    • Slight tweak to zombies, reduced their move speed slightly (from 0.35 to 0.30) so that villagers can reliably gain distance from them and so they don’t have more reach than the player when retreating due to lag reach.
    • Player walk (base) speed has been reduced slightly (from 1.3 (vanilla sprinting) to 1.2) to both mitigate the effects of retreating lag reach, and also because the old pacing made you feel like the game was rushing you in the early game. Now it feels like your character has some weight to them. This has an effect of putting Hunger Strike players into a pretty tense disadvantage state when afflicted by the Hunger debuff (as it disables sprinting in that mode)
    • Using items, blocking, and eating applies a lesser movement penalty (from 0.2x to 0.5x) to keep combat more dynamic. Bows remain unchanged for the time being as they are already remarkably powerful from the increased base speed.
    • Increased player sprint speed from 1.7x to 1.8x to somewhat maintain a similar top speed now that overall movement speed is reduced
    • Removed some very justified swears from a very frustrated patch note.
