Shopsmith for the win
I’m very happy with it, especially the space saving aspect.
That’s why I have one. Well two. One is for spare parts. I mostly use the lathe, bandsaw and jointer. I’m working out of a one car garage so this saves a lot of space. But the table saw is way too unsafe so I got a dedicated one.
I also have a standalone Shopsmith Pro Power Planer that I abuse.

Generally, making little guide holes/dents — make it easier to start a drill bit where I want, transfer a point through a template, make an indent for my lathe tailstock live center.
