The suspension comes amid a wave of pro-Palestine student demonstrations across the country, with students staging occupations at universities including Columbia and Yale Universities. Though there have not been occupations at Harvard this semester, the University restricted access to Harvard Yard on Sunday in anticipation of student protests.

PRIVATE universities. These are all private ones. The public universities would never attempt this.

That assumes they have any interest in standing up for what’s right but just aren’t brave enough to do so.

I think it’s more likely that they just don’t gaf either way but think siding with Israel will get them more money.

So, not satisfied by unconstitutionally punishing peaceful protest, now they’re PREEMPTIVELY sanctioning people for POTENTIALLY speaking up against genocide??

FFS! What kind of banana republic (brought to you by United Fruit, now Chiquita) bullshit is this? 🤬

Ok so it’s one of the many things that aren’t technically illegal, just really shitty and oppressive. Neat!

It is definitely shitty, oppressive, and has a chilling effect. Essentially, they are bending over backwards to ensure that their billionaire donors keep donating.

Public universities are a far safer place than private ones, as we can see here. They are destroying lives right now by shutting off access cards to dorms–they’ve literally made students homeless over their protest. Pathetic.

I was ok with private universities until this point–they were worthy of ignoring because so much of the good research comes out of well-funded public universities. It’s now become clear that they are beholden ONLY to their donors and any scholarship or academics are secondary and we should no longer support/put up with them.

Is this the same group that staged a 12 hour hunger strike, ending right before dinner time?
