Weapons transfers to the units will not be impacted by the State Department's findings, spokesperson says

“After a careful process, we found five Israeli units responsible for individual incidents of gross violations of human rights. All of these were incidents much before October 7th and none took place in Gaza,” State Department deputy spokesperson Vedant Patel said Monday.

Patel said the findings would not impact arms transfers.

ABC News reported on Friday that the Biden administration had found at least three military units guilty of human rights violations but decided not to withhold military aid to the units because it believed Israel was addressing the findings.

    So announcing this is as useless as when they sanctioned like 5 settlers for about a month

        It’s pretty funny Biden is now employing the israeli Hasbara tactic of spamming misinformation.

        Every week we see a new post about how Biden is going to sanction israel but he either doesn’t follow up on it, or reverses the sanctions directly after placing them.

      It’s just more political campaigning for the upcoming election, just like the recent handful of regulatory measures in a few areas of limited impact to the average American’s Quality Of Life that could’ve and should’ve been done years ago but “strangelly” only got done all together when the Presidential Election was around the corner.

      Throw a few easilly reversible or pure talk bones to wavering supporters to get them to vote for you and spend the next 4 years (minus a few months, reserved for the next vote’s bone-throwing period) doing whatever the hell you want (up to and including activelly supporting genocide with the kind of military equipment known to cause massive collateral damage)

      Mind you, this is not just a Biden or an American thing - I’m involved in a political party in a different country and you get similar shit from the leadership: they pretty much don’t care about what most of the party members think up until 2 or 3 months before an election at which point suddenly you get a couple of high-profile party figures touring the country and doing conferences with the local Party members to “listen to them” - so let’s not deceive ourselfs into thinking seemingly positive measures from politicians anywhere that only ever happen when they need voters to vote for them or party members to do free campaign work for them, are a true genuine change for the better rather than cold calculating manipulation for their own gain.
