It’s not enough to draw lines between liberals and leftists. Ultimately we need to convince a lot of people (almost certainly a lot of now-liberals) to get on our side if we’re going to accomplish anything.
I would make a distinction between soft liberals, who are generally left-leaning normies who just absorbed the ambient ideology around them, and the hardcore, “uhm acktually” neolibs who are as rabidly imperialist and anticommunist as any fascist. The latter should be treated the same as chuds
That’s definitely a useful distinction, but I don’t think you treat the latter group like chuds – they’re the ones who articulate that ambient ideology the former group nods along to. Dismiss or attack a group someone already disagrees with (chuds) and that group will give you broad latitude, or even cheer you on. Dismiss or attack the sacred cows of liberal spaces and those “soft liberals” will tell themselves that you didn’t actually address what was said.
