    Markdown wants two new lines to do a new paragraph.

      Yup, either put a blank line:

      like

      this

      Or put two spaces at the end of the line (using underscores for spaces):

      like__
      this

      The first renders with a blank line, the second renders without (but the lines are separated). Usually you want the first.

      Example of the first:

      Hello, this is an example.
      This is the next line.

      Example of the second:

      Hello, this is an example.

      This is separate paragraph.

    A single line return
    disapears

    A single line return disapears

    A double line return

    Gives a new paragraph

    A double line return

    A double space at the end of a line
    Gives a new line

    A double space at the end of a line
    Gives a new line

    Same for ending a line with a \
    You just get a new line

    And to recreate this example
    ```
        gives
     a  block  of
      preformed
        code
    ```

    >And starting each line like this
    >
    >Gives a block quote\
    thought it's not needed if you use a simple line return\
    or two

    thought it’s not needed if you use a simple line return
    or two
