Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum was announced to be in development on May 9, 2024 with a planned release in 2026. The script is being developed by Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens and set to be directed by and star Andy Serkis.
Is that the next spinoff?
It’s a spinoff of the Lord of the Rings XXVIII extended cinematic universe. Each of the cast and crew of LotR XXVIII get a film about them.
Oh, my mistake. And then each film could have it own franchise to create the LOTR multiverse cinematic universe.
