Probably going to see a few more cases like these with some of the other large corporate landlords. If Biden had any political sense he’d campaign on the fact that his dept of justice is cracking down on corporate landlords whose greed presents direct material problems in people’s everyday lives but he won’t for some unknowable reason.

True, makes you think that whatever was happening here had to be a pretty flagrant and unignorable violation. I have a friend who works as a tenants rights lawyer and asked their opinion, and they responded with a “they fucked up bad.”
Ayyy these people used to own a company I worked for (not in the real estate field, won’t say more for privacy)
Used to build APIs against software made by RP. Not only was it total trash (UI and “API” both), but they nickel and dimed resi landlords AND resi tenants.
I wasn’t in RE either, not directly. We just found reasons to bill fees to tenants per their leases, and took a cut of what the LL collected.
Now I wonder if maybe we both worked for same company for at least a few months back in ‘21. Odds are very much against it, ofc.
Are you C? Lol
I was gone well before the pandemic
Good. Can’t imagine they embraced WFH willingly, sounds like a bullet dodged.
Biden won’t campaign on this because he won’t campaign, and because he doesn’t know his administration is doing this, and because this is a bad thing for Bidens most likely voters.
He’s campaigning to donors and electors, with voters as an afterthought at best
