Went to a stem focused college and they used to call geology classes ‘Rocks for Jocks’ because many of the athelets would end up in those classes.

Yes, this was me, hello (in an adjacent dept but we share the same grad student room). I used to climb, like 200 outdoor single and multi-pitch sends/year a lot. My mountaineering group was filled with geoscientists. I got injured though during some apt renovations and can’t do little ledges anymore (maybe in the future, I still got hope). Now I meme about rocks. Rocks truly do rock.

Crazy, I’m a geologist and that has not been my experience at all. Nerds as far as the eye can see in both undergrad and grad school.

Please go watch this if you want to really know what geology is all about: https://youtu.be/akQ2JpglmEo

And go watch all of this channel, she is great at explaining complicated stuff in a really easy to understand but still correct way.

I suppose you are a physicist and not a grammarian.

I don’t mean to be that person, but we tried so hard and even added an extra character to still get it wrong.

Since the comments say that geologists are like this unofficially, they seem like cool people. I’m no geologist, but rocks are cool.

But if you talk to them informally, they will excitedly show you pictures of cool rocks, which is neat.
