I have a few unused Domains and I would like to subrent them for free for interested selfhoster. Any recommendations on how to do so? I tried weebly but it seemed way to complicated. Should I just go with a website and then an email contact?

How does a subrented domain work? You hold on to the whois, and collect a periodic fee to point the whois NS records at the buyers choice of servers?

Given that so many things secure access based on domain ownership, isn’t that crazy risky for the renter?

FreeDNS (afraid dot org) allows anyone to create subdomains under your domain for free, so could be a good fit?

An alternative would just be to have the selfhoster message you the IP and you update the records manually…

Or even ask the selfhoster to setup a DuckDNS and you add a CNAME record for that, which would allow the selfhoster to update records themselves on duckdns
