I went nuclear and overwrote and then deleted all my content with PDS. Then I deleted my account, and later found out many of my comments are still up. Since I no longer have the account, I’m screwed unless they comply with my CCPA request.
But it occurs to me that mods can remove comments. Would it be effective to report my own stuff from another account and ask mods to remove them?
Mods can restrict content, but they cannot truly delete it. It will be hidden from regular users and anonymous folks, but mods themselves and reddit admins can still see the content normally I believe. And if you still had the account, you’d be able to see your own content as well.
Only reddit admins can delete content that belongs to another user, regrettably.
Darn it! Thanks for confirming. I’ll wait out the CCPA request I guess.
Actually wondering if you should do this anyways. If the mods accept the report and hide it, that’s less content to attract casual viewers and subscribers. So it’s still a denial to reddit in a sense.
The other thing is, although they say they will get back in 30 days, I found a reference suggesting that they actually have 45 days.
