I’ve been making use of wpcli for the small constellation of wp sites I have to deal with, primarily because it means I can actually do some semi-reasonable automation against the damn things (update checks, settings blocks, etc etc). Feel free to steal ideas for a script :D

yeah, we use wpcli for the day job, it’s just the thing for serious wordpress abuse
