At least the babies that would’ve been aborted due to serious birth defects got to experience the joy of life, specifically life filled with suffering and agony, for the a few minutes/days they survived

I’m sure they would be soo grateful to the fucking braindead assholes that made this happen

I do not understand. If the mama hurts the baby to abort it herself, she is also in wrong, no?

I read other and im confused. I’m not an American and I’m not aware what the pro lifers want but if it’s a medical problem, shouldn’t the mamas get to decide what they want to do? I though that was default in 21st century.

This is real, that’s the human life they’re trying to save by preventing abortion. This kid can’t see, can’t hear, can’t feel. Very poor prognosis for this kid.

They all die, it’s so pointless. Antichoicers should be forced to explain to a pregnant 12-year-old incest victim why they have to have their father’s genetic mutation.

Clearly those dead babies didn’t have enough gumption. Should have just pulled themselves out of the womb by their bootstraps and gotten a job

Some of the most successful people on earth have a thriving business and achieve financial independence before they’re even born.

If the first thing you do is nurse after you pop out, you’re already behind.

“Congenital anomalies, which are the leading cause of infant death, also increased in Texas but not the rest of the US.”

Just in case anybody was wondering

This shouldn’t be a surprise because many of the pregnancies that would have been terminated were nonviable.

A pro-life person would argue that aborted pregnancies should count as infant mortality and therefore the rate has dropped precipitously.

No see when it happens as a result of our maliciously horrible decision making it’s god’s plan.

You didn’t expect us to ever own up to our own evil decisions did you?

They absolutely do not give one single fuck. It’s almost entirely about the culture war and keeping a fanatical base frothing mad at everyone but their team so they can continue to hold power and be as legally corrupt as they want.

I read an idiotic comment on an article about this that said something along the lines of: “what is not mentioned is the amount of babies saved because of not being aborted.”

I think something worth considering is that pro-lifers were already counting abortions at any stage as ‘infant mortality’, so they probably don’t see an issue with this news.

Sharp rise in syphilitic pregnancies. Congenital syphilis subjects a kid to some brutal handicaps from day one. And in a state like Texas, where Medicaid is made deliberately difficult to access and health care is obscenely expensive, it can easily be a death sentence.

    So, anyway, Right-To-Life hooray!
