    Third parties need to grow from the bottom up, not from the top down. Third parties should run heavily in local and state elections. Until they hold a couple of seats, its insane to pretend running for president is at all a viable option. It’s like a small town with no stadium questioning why they weren’t picked to host the super bowl.

      Local and state elections are important, but presidential campaigns can bring attention to third-party issues that are often ignored by the major parties. Building from the bottom up and the top down simultaneously strengthens the movement and shows that third parties are serious about representing the working class at every level of government.

      I’m hoping that the higher profile and positive support that De la Cruz’s campaign is getting, lets them focus on other elections after this election passes.
