With RCS rolling out on the iPhone, Google is working on cross-platform end-to-end encryption (E2EE) between Android and iPhone.

Proper end-to-end, or one allowing Google to datamine messages for ad-targeting purposes?
It rolled out today for me and 2 friends. 1 iPhone and 2 pixels. usability wise it is nice
For me, it was cool seeing the RCS indicator, but I didn’t see any functional changes. Texting with someone on Android is the same as it was with SMS
The main benefit is if a video gets sent cross platform, it doesn’t get compressed to 2005 potato cam
