Now it makes me think of all the time people said to support local businesses and I was confused because all they did was resell things from literally the nearby supermarket (for which I briefly worked so I know for a fact) at a higher price. It’s just all capitalism. :(
I never thought I’d see Amazon as a comparatively better employer.
A lot of people welcomed big box stores and conglomerates into their neighborhoods, and not just for the lower prices.
