What a funny intro! 😄
Deno is a modern JavaScript/TypeScript runtime built by the creator of Node.js, designed as a more secure and developer-friendly alternative. Unlike Node, Deno runs with strict permissions (no file, network, or environment access by default) and includes TypeScript support out of the box. It also natively supports modern web APIs and provides built-in utilities like testing and formatting, reducing the need for external dependencies. Plus, it’s modular, offering direct URL-based imports instead of relying on

There definitely is a textual description somewhere. I just found the intro (the commercial)awkwardly entertaining.
Deno is fantastic. I keep trying to get people to use it for scripting instead of Python, but nooo we have to use Python because it’s already installed and installing Deno is apparently too much hassle.
1000 hours lost to pip and venv later…
Python allows non-programmers program, hence its popularity. I personally don’t like Python, but I can tolerate it, and I even sometimes use it when I need a very quick solution (automation, quick data analysis, etc.). I once had to maintain a large and complex backend written in (untyped) Python, and it was a nightmare. Deno surely solves those problems. To each their own. We can’t expect everyone to be competent, can we? 🤷♂️
Oof yeah I have at least been allowed to use static type hints in the Python at my current job. They still don’t get it, but at least it’s not like my previous job where they literally banned them. 🤦🏻♂️
That company did not survive.
