Frequency modulation (FM) is more robust to noise than amplitude modulation (AM) because static itself is primarily a form of amplitude modulation.

    The article talks about noise but misses the most important part. AM’s bandwidth is 10khz vs FM 16khz. It’s what makes AM music, even when noise free, sound like it’s being sent over an old phone line.
