for some reason posts and comments from sopuli.xyz and sh.itjust.works users have not been federating to kbin.social for the last 2 days. if you want to see all the posts from communities on lemmy instances or at least sopuli.xyz you need to click the browse original instance banner at the top of the magazine
Kbin also seems to be blocking bots for some reason, there is PetrosianBot on this community that isn’t appearing on kbin
edit
that was a bit pointless, pinning the post only works on the same instance

To clarify:
even though this community is on sopuli.xyz it still seems to be federating, but if a user from sopuli or sh.itjust.works makes a comment/post here it won’t appear on kbin. id a user from lemmy.world, lemmy.antemeridiem.xyz, etc makes a comment/post it will be visible, like this post is
It’s not just !anarchychess@sopuli.xyz it seems to happen on all lemmy communities. I found a post on lemmy.world and all the comments from sh.itjust.works users are missing.
if it was only sh.itjust.works not federating it might be a blacklist but supoli.xyz seems like an odd one to get blacklisted. lemmy.theonecurly.page also seems to not be federating with kbin, I seem no reason why that would be blacklisted either

I found a pattern, all the not federating instance are on lemmy 0.18.0
federating:
lemmy.world: 0.17.4
beehaw.org: 0.17.4
lemmy.antemeridiem.xyz: 0.17.4
not federating:
sopuli.xyz: 0.18.0
sh.itjust.works: 0.18.0
lemmy.theonecurly.page: 0.18.0
edit 4
someone already opened a github issue that is probably the same issue
edit 5
It’s over! sopuli.xyz has just updated to 0.18.1 and kbin federation is working again
Shitjustworks is happily hosting r/thedonald. Many instances have started blocking them.
There was like one guy who made a post there, and they and their community were banned quickly by the admin. As far as I’m aware only beehaw is defederated from them.
In terms of Lemmy instances, assuming the feddit.de map is up to date, only beehaw, tucson.social and toons.zone have defederated. The first two presumably because of open signups.
However, afaik, Kbin doesn’t publish it’s blocklist, and the timing does make sense (last posts seem to be about 2-3 days ago), so it’s possible they have blocked it.
On the other hand, kbin.social had pretty much always had issues federating since the “migration”, so it could just be under load.
didn’t they ban that community? and I don’t know what would be wrong with sopuli
No they’re not. There was literally one user posting that stuff, and he got banned once people noticed him because the community didn’t want him.
They banned the community ages ago
