A 7% rise. Despite 20 mph limits being rolled out in many councils. Time for ten year testing and more cameras again
You say as if those roads are where the majority of injuries occurred. How many deaths/ injuries where on roads with the 20 mph limit?
No idea. But that was not my intent. I would expect that 20mph would yield a decrease on the overall stats however
Assumptions make an ass out of… Wait.
Also worth asking what the condition the roads themselves are in. Where I live in Edinburgh, and for probably a mile and a bit in all directions, the roads are more pothole than road. Add to that narrow roads to begin with, and the restrictions being done for traffic “calming.” Just last week I nearly dislocated my shoulder when I hit a pothole at 10mph and the pitch cranked my front passenger side wheel way to the left…I just avoided smashing into the parked cars on the side. Normally in that stretch I would be a bit closer to the centre of the road, but with an Amazon delivery truck double parked and a bus passing it, I was only about a meter away from the parked cars. That isn’t even in a stretch with a narrow road…
