Hello everyone. This is gonna be a long post so bear with me :)

I have managed to build a new PC. Specs below:

  • Motherboard: Asrock X670E Steel Legend
  • CPU: Ryzen 7800x3d
  • CPU Cooler: beQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4
  • RAM: 2 x 16 GB GSKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB 6000 MHZ CL30 (memory in the QVL list of MB)
  • GPU: RTX 4070
  • PSU: Corsair RM850X

Some info / issues:

1 - first boot was long. I didn’t knew if I did something wrong but after 2 minutes, the system booted to BIOS

2 - BIOS version was 1.21 ( 2023/4/27 )

3 - I have updated the BIOS to the latest version: 1.28 (2023/7/28)

4 - Again, the first boot took some time.

5 - Adjust the RAM PROFILE TO 6000 MHZ, saved BIOS and exited, again the PC took a long time to boot.

6 - Adjusted the Curve Optimizer -30 to all cores, again the PC took a long time to boot. At one point I even reset the BIOS because I didn’t know how long to wait.

7 - Memory context restore is enabled by default

Some more info:

  • CPU Temperature: maximum recorded temp was in CB: 84C. (WITHOUT curve optimizer it reaches 89c)
  • CPU frequencies: all cores boost to ~5ghz WITH CO -30 on all cores
  • Cinebench score: 18200
  • CPU SOC voltage: It never exceeds 1.24V. I manually tried to change to 1.2 but the PC didn’t boot or I didn’t wait enough? I reset the BIOS and left it on auto…
  • cold start boot time: ~26s
  • restart boot time: ~17s
  • 7800x3d is the most efficient gaming CPU you can have!

Questions:

a - When I change specific CPU / RAM settings, the PC boots very slow to the point that you don’t know if something is froze. It makes you want to shutdown the PC and reset the BIOS…

b - How can I improve the boot times?

Thanks!
