Exactly. What I’m seeing over on reddit almost seems like pro-reddit propaganda. They make it sound impossible to get into and inevitable to fail. But let’s be honest, the numbers here have been impressive this last week. It’ll probably only grow from here. I’m hoping my little comments here and there on reddit might help bring people over faster. Hopefully others can do the same.
I agree, and I’m trying to do the same. I just said this in a different thread somewhere else; but it seems to me like it’s less about how complicated the platform is, and more about how users are communicating about it.
Like, I don’t give a shit about the mod tools, or instances, or whatever else; I just want a place to come and look at art and read about game programming. Those more behind-the-scene details are cool, and certainly important, but it’s not a very good selling point for users who just want to leave Reddit and want something to fill that void.
